STOKE V CHELSEA
Andre Villas-Boas oversees his first competitive fixture as Chelsea manager when he takes his team to the Britannia Stadium.
The Blues started last season with a 6-0 home win over West Brom, but are likely to find the going tougher against Tony Pulis' side on Sunday.
Stoke, who held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season, have added experienced defenders Jonathan Woodgate and Matthew Upson to their ranks during the close season.
WEST BROM V MAN UNITED
Sir Alex Ferguson's side dazzled in their come-from-behind Community Shield win over neighbours Manchester City last weekend.
Nani scored twice in the 3-2 Wembley victory to cap what he described as the best performance of his career.
United won this fixture 2-1 on New Year's Day last season, but since taking over the Baggies, Hodgson has lost just two matches.
West Brom were the only team to take points off United at Old Trafford last season.
